I bought a huge bag of whole coffee beans and forgot to grind it at the store. I don’t have a coffee grinder can I use the food processor?

Yeah, but if you used the food processor for anything else some of the flavors may linger in the coffee (even if you washed it) and vice versa.

But unless it’s garlic or something you probably won’t notice.

No not really. A coffee grinder is not very expensive. Buy a small coffee grinder.

I wouldn’t. You’ll get an uneven grind and a second rate cup o java. Get an inexpensive electric grinder.

I use a hand cranked wooden grinder—-old school.

you can if you’re desperate, but the coffee beans could destroy the blades of your food processor, so if you could wait, just buy the machine built for the job ( and i think the coffee beans will make a good mess of the food processor )

anyway, i checked out this site and here’s what it says
How to Grind Coffee Beans in a Food Processor

While a coffee grinder works best for grinding coffee, a food processor can be used if nothing else is available. The key to using a food processor is to think small and not grind more than a pot’s worth of coffee at a single time. If your food processor has the smaller insert tub, it can make the job a bit faster and clean up easier.

    Instructions

    1.
    Step 1

Measure out the amount of roasted coffee beans needed to make a single pot of coffee. Generally 1/4 to 1/3 cup of beans will make a regular-sized pot.
    2.
    Step 2

Set up your food processor. If the processor does have the smaller insert, be sure to put that in place.
    3.
    Step 3

Pour in the coffee beans and put the cover on the processor.
    4.
    Step 4

Pulse the beans until the beans have become a ground powder. The finer the powder, the stronger the coffee will be.
    5.
    Step 5

Use the coffee grounds in your coffee pot as normal.

hope this helps and good luck with that
