Can A Blender Be Used As A Food Processor?

I wanted to make FRENCH macarons (not the coconut macaroons)
I was watching a tutorial on youtube, and the chef put almonds and sugar in a food processor.
I don’t have a food processor or any money to buy one, but I have a blender, and I was wondering if it would be ok just to use that instead.

How do you grind your own meats?

I’m thinking about grinding our own meats (beef, chicken, pork, etc). What suggestions do you have for someone just starting out. I don’t want to invest a lot of money in this. I have a Ninja Master Prep, but not a traditional food processor. What cuts of beef would you suggest using? What ratios of cuts would you blend together for the beef? Any suggestions or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

I’ planning to buy a food processor , but don’t want to waste my money on something that wont last like the as seen on TV adds where they seem to work great at first and then fall apart according to the reviews I’ve seen.
I’m planning to spend no more than 60.00, the processor needs to be powerful, sturdy and have at least a 6 cup capacity.
Any suggestions?

Magic Bullet Food Processor…?

My son eats pureed foods and I’ve tried the Cuisinart Mini Food Prep Prossesor…. BOOOO!!! It smelled like the motor was going to burn up… And it wasn’t even working that hard! And it left big chuncks of food. I’m using a blender now… and it’s such a pain to get all of the food out from around and under the blades! It takes so long just to blend up his foods. I was wondering if the Magic Bullet would be good for the use I need it for? Or maybe a different food processor? I was thinking of saving up some money and buying one of the good ones… Like the 0-200 ones… I’m just tired of dealing with the blender…

What do you use your food processor for and what features should I look for in buying a food processor?

I have never had a food processor before and think it might be time to get one. I have been using my blender to make nut butters, pestos, etc on a weekly basis and have decided it’s time to upgrade to a food processor before I burn out my blender. I want a food processor to make salsa, chop vegetables and more. I’d love to be able to grind oatmeal into oat flour too. I want one that is going to last a while but as this is something I’ll probably use weekly or a few times a month as opposed to daily I don’t want to spend any more than I have too especailly since I’m using a blender for most of what I want to use the food processor for. I just want to make sure I’m getting the best possible food processor for the money and appreciate all insights! Thank you.

I’ve been working really hard to save up money for the amazing kitchen that I really want. Along with that I want to have the star (my chefs knives). So I want to know from any professional Chefs where to get a fantastic Chefs knife-granton, and Santoku, pairing and serrated knife. Also any other Professional advice for choosing my appliances (I prefer the electric stove and ovens and have been looking at Vikings) I love to cook, and if i can afford later would love to have a gourmet cooking class, and im a quick learn. Oh and I also do a lot of baking, and making things from scratch like ive made my own fondant, peanut butter, and well I try to make everything my self even my own brown sugar haha just in case you have advice on appliances i might like. THANKS
haha I just wanted to add that I have been looking at that exact knife
(Henckels santoku) and as i was writing this i kept thinking hmm i wonder if the knives ive been looking at will be mentioned. Thanks for all the help!!

I have gone through many different brands of blenders. They don’t have the stamina for what I use them for. I am tired of wasting my money. I would love to get a commercail grade VitaMix but right now I don’t have 0 to spend. I need something that will chop ice like butter, I also want to start making my own baby food,and for my dinners too. I think my max right now would be about 0 for the price. Any Ideas?

I can only afford one right now, which should I get first? a food processor or a Kitchen Aid stand mixer?

I’m more of a cook and don’t bake at all…but a reason why I don’t bake is all the mixing involved!
Thanks everyone for their answers…I was leaning towards a food processor as well..but I’ve always wanted the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. It just looks sooo nice. I have a gift card to use up -so I thought since I would actually use my "own" money to purchase a food processor (because it is a handy tool and a good investment)…that I should use my gift card towards the purchase of the Stand mixer! hahaha. I think I’ll be practical and get the food processor )
